If you're in the market for a new or used car, chances are you've visited the Kelley Blue Book website. If you haven't yet, Deland Toyota Scion highly recommends it. Why? Each year, when Kelley Blue Book scans the auto market for the cars with the Best Resale Value, they look at a few different things. Mainly, they award the top cars in 19 categories (aka mid-size car, luxury car, compact SUV, etc...), the top ten vehicles across all categories, and of course, the top brand overall. Awards are based on current vehicle data, sales data, market conditions, competition within vehicle segments, and future economy expectations, among other things. Paul Johnson, President and Publisher of Kelley Blue Book says, "The Best Resale Value Awards combine the expertise of Kelley Blue Book's market analysis with our proud history of trusted accuracy in reporting vehicle values."¹

The point being: we weren't surprised to hear that America's best-selling car for the last nine years, the Toyota Camry, was awarded Best Resale Value for Mid-Size Sedan. It also didn't shock us in the least to hear that the 2012 Toyota Tacoma and 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser both took spots on the Best Resale Value Top Ten list. And again, when we heard that Toyota was awarded the Best Brand for Resale Value, (for the second time in three years), the news didn't come as a surprise. But, we are awfully proud.

Among the myriad of reasons Toyota beat out the competition, according to editors at Kelley Blue Book, "Toyota isn't the flashiest or sportiest showroom in the auto mall, but it remains among the busiest, demonstrating the importance of quality when it comes to the second-largest purchase in most buyers' lifetimes."²
